Synthetic Turf Field Contractor in Reno and Lake Tahoe. Licensed in Nevada.

We are a synthetic turf field contractor Northern Nevada and Lake Tahoe schools and parks rely on for fields that hold up to high desert sun, dry wind and freeze-thaw winters. We are based in Verdi, just west of Reno.

What high desert weather does to a synthetic field

  • Reno sits at about 4,400 feet. UV is stronger at elevation, and it fades and weakens turf fibers faster than at sea level.
  • The Truckee Meadows gets only about 9 inches of rain a year. Dry infill blows around and migrates.
  • The afternoon Washoe Zephyr drops dust, seeds and debris into the infill all summer.
  • Winter nights drop below freezing and the days warm back up. That freeze and thaw works on seams and edges and can lift them.
  • Around Lake Tahoe, at more than 6,000 feet, snow sits on fields for months, and fields have a short window to get ready for spring sports.
  • Snow removal is hard on a field. A plow blade set too low tears seams, lifts inlays and scrapes infill off the surface.

When to schedule work

  • Spring, once the snow is gone: walk the field, magnet sweep plow debris, check seams and edges for winter damage, then power groom and top dress where infill moved.
  • Before winter: preventive maintenance training for your staff, so snow gets cleared without damaging the field.
  • Summer: regular grooming and magnet sweeps through the busiest stretch of use.
  • Fall, before the first hard freeze: close up seams and edges so water cannot get under them over the winter.
