Why Maintenance Matters

Your turf field and running track represent a major investment. Routine maintenance helps improve safety, preserve appearance and prevent costly long-term damage.

Synthetic turf is not maintenance free

In the past, synthetic turf fields were promoted as maintenance-free. While it does reduce the maintenance an athletic field needs, it is NOT MAINTENANCE FREE. Proper maintenance keeps your field safe and protects your investment.

Without regular care, a synthetic field can become unsafe:

Compacted infill makes the surface harder and reduces its ability to absorb impact.
Open seams, lifted edges and exposed nailer boards create trip hazards.
Debris and metal objects in the infill can injure players.
Poor drainage leaves standing water and a deteriorating base.
Worn fibers and uneven infill levels change how the surface plays.

Grooming and Cleaning Programs

Yearly maintenance plans with 4, 8 or 16 cleanings and groomings a year, and an inspection and report at every grooming.

Power Grooming and Infill Leveling

A deep grooming that loosens packed infill, levels it back out and pulls debris after months of play.

Loose or torn seams, lifted edges and damaged inlays repaired with adhesive made for synthetic turf.

Field evaluations: Complete inspections covering compaction level, fiber wear, infill consistency, seam integrity, debris, drainage and nailer board condition.
Playground and field testing: G-Max and performance evaluation of the playing surface, with certified results from an independent third party.

Maintenance

Field grooming: Regular grooming maintains infill levels and field longevity, following the manufacturer's guidelines.
Deep power groom: Stands up fibers and decompacts the infill.
Sweeping with magnet: Removes metal and ferrous material from the infill that could injure players.
Surface decompaction: Loosens infill and brings G-Max readings back to acceptable Synthetic Turf Council (STC) guidelines.
Top dressing: Restores infill levels affected by migration.
